The Media Mentors program
provides media literacy education, professional and
personal development to students of various ages through
hands-on experience developing, producing, editing,
screening and discussing original media projects.
College and upper high school students participate in free professional training. They,
in turn, are paid to
lead workshops for youth from the Wilmington community.

The Media Mentors Difference
Across the country, there are many tuition-based
training programs for youth interested in media.
Our program seeks to provide the same quality
experience to students and youth here in Delaware
who would otherwise not be able to afford this experience. Not only do youth attend for free (meals included), but mentor-level students receive
a stipend for their completion of sessions.
As they create and disseminate their
works, the knowledge and skills acquired by participants
will have a ripple effect in communities where these
students live and study by providing new outlets and
voices for important discussion.
