A sign of the changing times: the
Delaware Department of Education is in the process
of setting content standards in the field of the Media
Arts. Our initiative is working on a number of
programs to help K-12 students, teachers and administrators
take better advantange of the opportunities of educational
technology and the media arts.
Here's what a past participant had to
say about here experience at one of our trainings:
"I took
the summer week-long workshop for DE teachers in
2008 and went out and bought a Mac the day after
it ended! I've been hooked ever since. I start a
new job teaching art at Brandywine High School and
one of the classes I am assigned to teach is computer
art (at the moment it's Photoshop but I plan to
integrate movie making). The impact your workshop
had on my art teaching career was huge.
Thank you for your help. You're doing a great job!"
- Linda Dillon, Delaware Public
School teacher
Not only do we recognize that work in
this field is increasingly vital to helping our
next generations become competitive in the global
workforce, our goal is also to foster creative
expression and a better understanding of oneself and
others, using media as the primary tool.
